About the Event
Join us the morning of 6/28 for an adventure at Staunton State Park!
Park at the lot farthest into the park. Drive past the visitor center, past the lower parking lots, past the horse trailer parking, you will come to a roundabout type lot/dead end- park there!
We will start easy climbing from the parking lot via Staunton Ranch trail, it will intersect the road where we will climb a little farther until we hook up with Marmot Passage on the left. This is a super fun section with some little technical spots but all rideable. Once we descend down to the lake, we will take a right onto West Meadow Trail - this is an easy but pretty little add on! It will cross the fire road and become Chimney Rock Trail that has some great views and cool rock features. Once about halfway on Chimney Rock, we will lock our bikes up to the horse ties (I don't know what they are called) and hike to Elk Falls! Bring the bigger pack for some extra shoes if you can't hike in your riding shoes, this is what I'll be doing! The hike is only about a half mile round trip and it's well worth it. We will continue riding Chimney to the fire road where we will meet up with Staunton Ranch again to ride back down to the lot.
This ride level is intermediate at a party/chill pace.Â
