Golden Gate Canyon State Park Ride

Join us for a fun social ride on Saturday, October 14th at 10am. The ride starts at the Blue Grouse parking lot at Golden Gate Canyon State park. I will post a screenshot of this lot in the Facebook event since it does not have an address (but it is on google maps).

Note: There's a $10 fee per vehicle to park in the state park so make sure you grab a pass or fill out a fee envelope before parking at Blue Grouse.

Skill level: 4/5 - some challenges for an intermediate rider, but a good mix of flowy chill trail and some tech. Pace: Party pace - lots of spots to regroup. This is a hilly route, but worth it for the beautiful scenery so we'll make sure everyone gets time to stop an enjoy.

Route description: 11 miles w/ ~1700-1800 ft (mtb project says less, but I've always gotten higher numbers on my GPS) A mixture of flowy trails, aspen groves, and intermittent rocky/tech. The final descent is a bit more chunky with some tight switchbacks that require some dabbing or walking, but it's easy to dismount and get around the turns. Depending on when the leaves peak, we may still have some beautiful aspen aspen leaves throughout the park.

Plan food and water for around 3-3.5 hours elapsed time. Moving time will vary from rider to rider and depending on group size, we may need more stops than usual. Historically, this ride has about 2 hours moving time for me.
