About the Event

Now is the season for high alpine riding. Join us for a ride through the A-basin ski area (via Argentine North Fork trail) and down the Lenawee trail. We will meet at the Keystone River Run parking (124 Gondola Rd, Keystone, CO 80435) at 9AM sharp. This climb features some of the best views of any ride in Colorado and tops out at 12,500 ft.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This ride requires ending at Keystone to avoid climbing the highway back to A-Basin. So for logistics, we will meet at Keystone, then leave some vehicles at the Keystone lot and shuttle up to A-Basin. Park at the back of the River Run parking lot to avoid mixing in with bike park goers so we can all find each other. I also added a chat to this event so we can coordinate carpooling.

New this year, A-Basin is requiring a free uphill bike pass to use their trails. This is at no cost, but we will each need to grab one before we depart up the hill. The uphill pass includes a token for a free beer at the finish https://www.arapahoebasin.com/to-do/biking/

Ride level 6. Due to the exposure in the upper portion of the trail, this ride is recommended for advanced riders. There are not big drops, jumps, or anything like that, but significant exposure at the top and a long rocky, rooty descent.

Pace: Party - the climb is quite brutal due to the altitude, but we will take a few stops along the way to regroup. Expect to do some walking up the upper ski road. Due to the length of the descent, we will also regroup at multiple points on the descent. A ride lead and sweep will be present to ensure everyone is safe.
